Hello, I’m Sarah.

I first came to massage and bodywork about 20 years ago while looking for ways to manage my own wellbeing. I know that when I take care of my health - a swim, eating well, regular massage - I feel more grounded. Starting bodywork just felt right – the ebb and flow of massage, the connection, a dose of spirituality. During my studies, I worked in a hospice – that’s when I realised how deeply important this work is and how powerful touch can be. It was at the hospice that I learnt the importance of massaging with compassion and presence.

Knead + Ground was born out of my love for Bodywork (Knead) and Aromatherapy (Ground). I blend intuitive bodywork with plant powered oils, therapeutic and remedial techniques, and grounding energy-based practices like Reflexology and Acupressure to give a holistic treatment.

When you come for an appointment with me, I want to take you on a journey from beginning to end. There’s no conveyor belt or one size fits all approach. I want you to feel completely held in the space and leave feeling nourished.

I have an ongoing love for nature and plants. It started growing up in the Lake District and now with my (attempted) apothecary garden in Frome. I really enjoy combining bodywork with Aromatherapy – the therapeutic properties of the plants mean we can work that bit deeper into the mind, the body, the psyche.

Bodywork is a shared experience, with both our energies working together to create space for change to happen. By noticing and sensing what’s going on in our body we can become an active part of our own healing.

I have a degree in Integrated Therapy in Practice which includes a FD (Arts) in Health and Social Care (Holistic Therapies) as well as Clinical Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, and Stone Therapy. I have continued my professional development in Pregnancy Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Advanced Massage Techniques, Women’s Health, Breathwork, and Understanding Trauma. I have experience of working in palliative care and mental health.

I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and committed to continued education.
